OUR TEAMWhat makes us different
makes us better

I have been a lawyer for over 30 years and have attended countless training courses, but nothing has been more important to me and my firm that the Mental Health First Aid training course presented by Joe Ankus. Literally LIFE SAVING. The material is vital, and the manner in which Joe presents this critical information is easily digestible. Joe is both smart and easy to work with. Our entire firm took the course, lawyers, paralegals and support staff. Suffice to say, I highly recommend Mental Health First Aid with Joe.

Joe Ankus facilitated Mental Health First Aid on our office in February 2019. It was a truly invaluable experience and his instruction was extraordinary! Our office works with lawyers, law students and judges in the state of Florida who live with mental health and substance use issues. We work with these individuals on a daily basis in various stages of crises. MHFA taught us practical skills and knowledge that has proven to be extremely helpful especially in dealing with an initial phone call or meeting. Joe taught us these practical skills and explained them with such compassion and a strong grasp of the tools that my entire office uses these skills on an almost daily basis. The ALGEE action plan will forever be a part of our daily work! Thank you, Joe!

TITLEName

I’ve had the pleasure of attending one of Joe’s trainings and working with him to provide training on my campus. His Mental Health First Aid trainings are engaging and informative. I had a great experience as an attendee, and when he presented on my campus the feedback from attendees was universally positive. This is a tremendously important topic that many people are uncomfortable approaching, so the tools and resources provided in Mental Health First Aid go a long way in helping people feel more equipped to proactively broach this challenging topic. We’re looking forward to having Joe present another training on our campus in the near future.

Joe has done 3 MHFA trainings for Florida legal aid audiences. I have gotten such positive feedback from participants and am so grateful to Joe for providing this much-needed training to attorneys practicing on the front lines of poverty law. His energy and passion for the subject make him an excellent trainer and he keeps his audience engaged for the entire 8-hour course. I cannot recommend him highly enough- he is truly doing life-changing work.
